Converse Timber Frames

 Converse Timber Frames is a small, family-run business with a long history of building quality homes in New England and beyond.  As part of four generations in the building trades (combined expertise from design through finish) – we take pride in our work.  Our customers trust us to build their dream homes, and we’d be anxious for you to get some feedback from them directly.

Owner, Mark Converse, started out in construction for a large commercial contractor in the Midwest in 1981.  An accident in ‘86 seemed to have ended all that; and so he went on to study architecture, (using AutoCad) and graduated number one in his class.

He strictly designed then for several years, but started picking up a hammer now and then, bouncing back to become a general contractor in the 1990’s.  By the new millennium, his love of craftsmanship – the attention to detail - naturally led him towards the beauty of timber frame / post and beam homes.

Mark had been working in conjunction with a Log & Timber Frame Co; sub-contracting services for the design, manufacture and erection of their timber frames homes.  But a large company, involving multiple markups with dealers, sales people, and the company, all dramatically increasing the cost.  Mark wanted a personal relationship with the customer while also eliminating the cost of the middle man.
